Whenever I look around

Whenever I look around, I see no joy,
I look around to see, people hating each other,
They curse; they blame and kill each other,
Is this God’s will, or just his ploy?
Whenever I look around, I see no joy.

I look around to see, burning houses,
Bodies of people moving in a sham,
In coffins of dead people they make a scam,
Leaving their relatives with no tears to cry,
Whenever I look around, I see no joy.

I wake up to a dark sun, and a light so strange,
No power to deal with, my body so drained,
Am I really His child or just a toy?
Whenever I look around, I see no joy.

Has the world been a bad place since creation?
Or is it just my imagination?
Why is everything so arid and so dry?
Whenever I look around, I see no joy.

Life can be beautiful, so have I heard,
Never have seen though, nor have experienced.
Is it always about our "own" happiness and joy? But,
Whenever I look around, I see no joy.

Tears of blood, cries of anger,
Annihilation, deaths, hatred, we don’t want any longer,
Love can be the language, it can lead us the way,
To show us a new light and a new day,
Open up happiness, don’t stay coy, so that
Whenever we look around, we see nothing, but joy!

  4. Hi Sarvesh..its my first time on your blog! Your poem unfortunately does bring to mind the part of the world..Bosnia, Serbia, Afganistan, Pakistan... that is going the way you have painted it. But afterall, living in our cosy homes, we cannot even begin to understand the untold miseries and horrors the citizens of those places face. We can only hope there is peace someday in the world and this hate that is all pervasive today just vanishes!
