One more like that and I'll be dead!!!

There are these days which do not start on a very “not so happening note”. Today, was one of “THOSE” days!!! Had a deliverable of one project today on which I've been working my butt off for the past three weeks now. The project had already been delayed by a day because of some unforeseen circumstances. I was also told this in advance that a day extra is just “ok”. However, I was told again that it has already taken a day extra and we have to finalize it by today itself.

Cool about it! So taking the amount of work to be done in one small little day I came in early today (ofcourse to the office). I was really happy to see almost no one around...(coz usually when I come theres hardly anyone left to come...lolz). Well so I wished the day to start on a good note. Now our office (I still don't understand why) has got Openoffice installed on our systems. And the client requires deliverables in MS Office. So everytime we have a deliverable we gotta fight out the laptops for ourselves as they are only lucky ones which enjoy the privilege of having MS Office installed. So I went up to the IT guy to get the lappy issued. He replies saying that he has no idea where our team's laptop was!!! There goes my effort of coming early down the drain. I was frantically calling a colleague whom I supposed was the culprit for the missing laptop. He didn't answer the call. Luckily found the laptop in another colleague's locker. God has saved me (I thought).

Now I was supposed to work on the finalization of things today. But as usual there were some changes in the sheets. One of the companies tracker had to be changed. So had a quick small meeting and went back to operational level from a finalizing one....:( After I was done I statrted working on the better part of it,finalizations.

According to the plan I completed the work and sent across the sheets and presentations over. They immediately came back with corrections. By this time I had already closed them on the laptop. So I reopened all of them and to my horror nothing had got saved. I had to redo the whole thing again in half the time. I sent it across again. This time it came back from my boss faster than the first time (alongwith an annoying mail). I was almost losing it by then. But you know how it is. You can't really do much even if you feel like kicking myself in the balls.

Anyways, the work was done and I managed somehow to save the files. Later I come to know that the deliverable has been further postponed till tomorrow. I was just about to kill everyone in the project and later myself!!! There are still some changes which I am expected to do in the million numbered excel sheet but atleast I am being spared till tomorrow (Thanks to my “kind” bosses).
